This is a Royal Navy Cabinet Card - HMS Pembrokeshire Sailors. Likely dated between 1904 and 1910 -  CBC3

 

The uniform style, including the "square rig" and cap tally, places this photo in the Edwardian period (1901–1910) or slightly later.

 

HMS Pembrokeshire (1904)

  • Type: The original HMS Pembrokeshire was a County-class cruiser launched in 1904. She was part of a group of ships named after counties in the UK.

  • Role: She served primarily in the Royal Navy’s home fleet and was used for various naval duties, including serving as a training vessel and participating in naval exercises.

  • Fate: The ship was eventually sold for scrap in 1928, after having served for over two decades.
