This topographical postcard shows the interior of the Lincoln Drill Hall on Broadgate transformed into a temporary emergency ward during the catastrophic 1905 typhoid outbreak. Rows of hospital beds are staffed by dedicated uniformed nurses caring for hundreds of localized citizens stricken by the contaminated public water supply.
